In 2023, Karen Wallace, a distinguished engraver from Edinburgh, achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Scot to receive the prestigious Jacques Cartier Memorial Award. This accolade, often referred to as the “Jewellery Oscar,” is bestowed by the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council to recognise exceptional and outstanding craftsmanship.
